PROTECT established a Pilot Laboratories Network (PLN) to enable industrial end users to select the most appropriate technology for their manufacturing facilities and target cost vs. performance of their products.
The services to be provided: coating technologies developed within the project, physic-chemical characterization of the products, nano-safety tests and training seminars related to the novel in situ monitoring of processes and products.

VI Congress R&D&i “Creating Synergies” – PROTECT was presented by AITEX by a poster from 4th to 5th of July 2018 celebrated in Alcoy and organised by the University of Valencia. More than 60 experts from Universities and Research Centers participated in the event in order to exchange results and knowledge from R&D&i projects.
Ecofira 2018 – PROTECT was disseminated in the Fair through AITEX’s stand from 6 to 8th of November 2018 celebrated in Valencia. ECOFIRA is the international trade fair for environmental solutions and energies, the meeting point where companies and public bodies present the latest advances in efficient environmental management.
Home Textile Premium – PROTECT was disseminated in the Fair through AITEX’s stand the 12, 13 and 14th of September 2018 celebrated in Madrid. This Fair is one of the most important events for the textile sector. The fair, which had 84 exhibitors, attracted me than two thousand visitors coming from 33 different countries.

INDTECH2018 Exhibition – PROTECT was presented at INDTECH2018 Exhibition in Vienna, Austria, on 29-31 October 2018. The conference was attended by around 1300 participants from more than 30 countries in Europe and across the globe. At this meeting, PROTECT, represented by the coordinator UPC, had the opportunity to meet, exchange information and strengthen collaborations with experts from industry, academia and policy.
LCIC 29-31 August 2018 – PROTECT project was presented at the first Life Cycle Innovation Conference (LCIC), Berlin, 2018. An oral presentation has been given within the session ‘Addressing the Social Dimension of Sustainability’.
ETPN2018 – PROTECT was presented at the 13th annual event of the European Technology Platform on Nanomedicine held in Berlin (Germany) on May 28-30, 2018. The event brought together the strongest partners of European nanomedicine and healthtech communities to discover, network, design new projects and discuss about the industrial expansion of nanomedicine (http://www.etpn2018.eu/).
18M PROTECT Meeting – On 5th and 6th June 2018 PROTECT consortium 18 months meeting took place in Limerick (Ireland),hosted by the partner University of Limerick
MECSPE2018 – The biggest Italian exhibition dedicated to innovations for the manufacturing industry celebrated its 17th edition on 22 – 24 March 2018 in Parma (Italy) with outstanding numbers: 110 000 meter square, 53 000 visitors, 2 260 exhibiting companies. The theme of the event was “The excellence of technology applied to industry”. This year PROTECT was presented at MECSPE with an exhibition stand displayed by the partner Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya as well as the PROTECT Project seminar organised in the frame of the Workshop on Nanotechnology and New Materials Square, coordinated by the partner Project HUB-360. These initiatives have raised strong interest among the stakeholders from different industrial sectors: cosmetic, water treatment, textiles, mattresses, rubber and foams producers, etc. The PROTECT Project seminar included 7 oral presentations from the consortium aimed at providing to visitors information on the project scope and the latest updates of the pilots.
AMiCI – PROTECT project was presented by the coordinator Prof. Tzanko Tzanov during the workshop of the COST Action CA15114 AMiCI held in Tallinn, Estonia, on 16th and 17th November 2017. AMiCI stands for Anti-Microbial Coating Innovations to prevent infectious disease, http://amici.lifescienceopenspace.pl/. This COST action aimes to evaluate the impact of AMC in healthcare.
EPPN – The European Pilot Production Network intends to boost the European competitiveness through the exploitation of the existing European pilot line production facilities across Europe in the area of nanotechnology and advanced material technologies. This project was funded under H2020 scheme CSA – Coordination and support action, pretending to address the gap between technology and manufacturing, https://www.eppnetwork.com/. PROTECT project is part of this network with active participation in relevant activities. Nano-safety responsible partners of Pilot projects is a group which is part of the WG Safe by design and Industrial Innovation of the NanoSafety Cluster (NSC) and part of the EPPN. PROTECT is represented in this group by Dr. Paride Mantecca and Dr. Massimo Perucca
EuroNanoForum2017 – The 8th European Conference on Nanotechnology took place on June 21-23, 2017 in Valletta, Malta. EuroNanoForum aims to strengthen the competitiveness of European manufacturing industries through nano and advanced materials technologies and open innovation, euronanoforum2017.eu. Nanotechnology, being the main topic of the EuroNanoForum, is one of the Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) of the Horizon2020’s (H2020) Leadership in Enabling and Industrial Technologies pillar, offering potential for major breakthroughs in a wide range of materials, technologies and applications. PROTECT was represented in this event by the coordinator Prof. Tzanko Tzanov (pitch).
